Recipe: Portuguese menu

From Carol Rose of Woodland:
Through the 1960s, '70s and '80s when our four children were babies and until they were young adults and still unmarried, we always had a Christmas morning breakfast. My husband's parents were always there, and as the years tumbled by, we would often invite several friends of the family. Santa had already arrived at our home and the presents were opened with glee.
My husband was in charge of breakfast since he was the pure-blooded Portuguese in the family. Here was the menu:
Orange Juice, Milk, and Coffee
"Portagee" Beans
Linguisa (Portuguese sausage)
Scrambled eggs with cheese
Hash browns, O'Brien style
Buttered toast or Bisquick-style biscuits with jam
Spritz Christmas wreath cookies
Sometimes the adults would start off with sparkling white wine, champagne-style, or a spicy Bloody Mary. A couple bottles of sparkling apple cider were also available.
Breakfast was eaten in shift or between opening presents. As the children acquired partners, wives, children, and an assortment of in-laws and friends, our guest list dwindled. We decided we would move the day for the event and serve the same food.
