Stella: Northern Italian cuisine with contrasting flavors and textures
20.05.12
In Bethel, a town known for exceptional Italian restaurants, another opened this fall -- and is worthy to join the pantheon.
The sign for Stella Restaurant & Bar is readily visible from busy Greenwood Avenue in front of a white Victorian building, but drive around the back in Dolan Plaza to enter the restaurant.
Walking down a few steps to Stella's entrance gives the sense of entering a private grotto.
The warm wood tables in the bar area on the right and in the more formal dining room on the left, with soft lighting throughout, are conducive to settling in with a glass of wine.
The parties behind the new restaurant have the pedigree for a successful venture.
Brothers Louis and Rocco Selmante work in the kitchen with chef Michael and co-own the restaurant with Ava Agolli, a family member who also is involved with the well-regarded Prespa Restaurant & Bar and Max 40, both on Mill Plain Road in Danbury, and Portofino Restaurant and Pizzeria in Wilton.
