Cook Book Farm: Rachael Ray dish is a taste of Italy
This cookbook first caught my eye because Ray did with it somewhat of the same thing I do with my polls. She formed top 10 lists. She took it a step further by breaking the categories down into 10 chapters with three lists of 10 each.
Two of my favorite chapters were Date night/Fake outs, which included her husbands Johns Faves, a Surf N Turf list and Cheap Dates. All will give the impression you have broken the bank when really you havent. My other favorite chapter was entitled Let me Entertain You, and that is where I found this weeks winning recipe. Like the title suggested, I used it to entertain my guests and they loved it.
Ray has published more than 16 cookbooks and is a huge star on the Food Network. Her latest show is Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off. (The Guy is Guy Fieri.) I watched the show and some of the celebrity chefs are less than chef-tastic. That made Rays latest televised adventure very entertaining.
The author just genuinely likes Rachael Ray, though she doesn't give her a pass on her use of pre-shredded cheese and store-bought ice cream in recipes, or her use of "cutesy-pie catch phrases." She tells Ray about a drinking game some of her Food
The original recipe calls for cheese, but my family is quite satisfied with our cheese-less version. It is very filling and I serve this with a salad. Rachel Ray's Original Spaghetti and Beans.
