Datebook Diner's Best Bites of 2011
21.05.12
In addition to the dishes mentioned in the best restaurants, I savored many a good bite throughout the year. Here are some standouts from my Datebook dining coverage, though keep in mind that dishes and prices may change.
Three-Flavors Fish at Taste of Thai. Those who love whole catfish, Southeast Asian style, should try this salty-sweet-sour-crunchy-crisp delight. $12.95. (215 E. Walnut; 528-2407)
Pork Baby-Back Rib Platter at Findlays Barbecue. A great-tasting steal, with three big, meaty ribs, two sides, cornbread and butter. $7.49. (1951 Indianola Ave.; 284-1212)
Guacamole Mexicano at Old West Mexican Restaurant. A chunky, super-fresh version youll be tempted to eat with a fork. $3.99. (4138 Fleur Dr.; 285-2468)
Pan-Seared New Bedford Scallops at Sbrocco. Andrew Meeks tried-and-true small plate of fat scallops atop a cauliflower puree. $13. (208 Court Ave.; 282-3663)
Midcentury Cooking High Life Lounge.
