Evenflo plans to sell feeding business
21.05.12
Evenflo Co. Inc., a Miamisburg-based producer of baby and child products, has agreed to sell its worldwide feeding business, not including its Ameda breast pump business, to Kimberly-Clark de Mexico, S.A.B. de C.V., Evenflo said Wednesday.
About six to 10 Miamisburg employees will have an opportunity to join Kimberly-Clark de Mexico, an Evenflo spokeswoman said.
She said no other Dayton-area employees would lose their jobs as a result of the sale.
The “bulk” of the feeding business is already located in Mexico, the spokeswoman said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In its announcement, Evenflo said “demographic trends, such as the increasing adoption of breastfeeding and an anticipated recovery in U.S. child births, as well as longstanding relationships with the world’s leading juvenile products retailers, favor the growth prospects for Evenflo’s diverse remaining businesses.”
Under the agreement, KCM will acquire the Evenflo trademark in Mexico; Evenflo’s global feeding assets, excluding Ameda; and Evenflo Mexico, S.A. de C.V.
