New barbecue restaurant opens in Thomasville

"We mainly feature Southern fare," Coggins said, including barbecue made with their own sauces and rubs as well as desserts such as homemade banana pudding and pound cakes.
The menu includes hickory-smoked, pulled pork barbecue and baby back ribs as well as what Coggins calls "chickenq," which is made from smoked, boneless chicken breasts and smoked portobello mushrooms, both chopped up and cooked together in a spicy vinegar sauce, which he noted is fat-free.
The restaurant makes four homemade sauces — a Lexington-style dip, an Eastern-style dip, a sweet sauce called Smoky Mountain Sweet and a honey-based "sweet heat" sauce for ribs and chicken called "Honey, You're So Hot." Coggins said they hope to bottle the latter sauce to sell at retail.
The menu also includes hamburgers and all-beef hot dogs, including a Nathan's brand hot dog, and sides such as macaroni and cheese and a grilled veggie medley.
"Everything is made from scratch," he said, adding that the ribs are fresh, not frozen.
